Depi lavi tap fleri sou latè,
Ti nèg nwè te tanmen pase mizè.
Blan malen ofri'n lavi etènèl,
Bèl paradi, ak bèl bondye nan sièl.
Pita, yo te pran'n sèvi betay,
Trake'n kou bèt sovaj anba pay.
Rèv nèg guinen te vante nan van
Ki tap gonfle vwal negriye blan mannan.
Men zansèt Desalin,Tousen, kristòf,
Nan chalè lakal, te kanpe byen tòf.
Zentray yo te pot rasin libète,
Lespwa limiè pou klere tout je.
Anfen 1804 te vi'n rive,
Libète indijèn te bon mache.
Men sèvèl nèg lakay te byen lave,
Bon chyen manje chyen te mete pye.
Prèske de sièk apre lindepandans,
Pèp ayisyen toujou nan soufrans.
Lamizè achete nan'm lajan kontan;
Lespwa ayisyen retounen nan men blan.
Ak politisyen kazak de koulè,
San inosan pran aroze latè.
Lè de-twa pip yal nan peyi san chapo,
Di mil lòt te la pou ramplase yo.
Aay! pèp ayisyen leve kanpe,
Solisyon wan se nan men nou li ye.
Wi se youn bwa kayiman sèl,
Ki pou fè lan demil nou bèl.
